Countdown Update 2
about 4 years ago – Sun, Feb 02, 2020 at 05:00:13 PM

Hey all!

Chinese New Year has three weeks until it is complete and providing the pandemic of the Corona-virus doesn't prevent workers to go back to work, we should still be on target for manufacturing.

The Gascony files are going through pre-press and as promised, we'll begin manufacturing as soon as CNY completes!  This means the game will have a 35 day manufacturing window to completion, bringing us to the third week of March.  After that we'll have the games on a boat and sent out to our fulfillment house.

It's around that time that we'll do an update to ensure addresses are updated properly.  We may have you complete a new survey because it has been so long we'd like to ensure a fresh and proper address change list.  We want to avoid as many returns as possible.

This game is already operating at a major loss for us, please help us mitigate the damage by following our steps to mitigate shipping.  This means focusing on re-doing the survey when it comes time.

Our next update will be all about the new address survey as well as boat information so we can track it.  But we will not be updating until that time.  Which will most likely be first week of March (after manufacturing is well under way and the ship estimates are booked).

Thanks for the patience everyone, it feels really really good to have a horizon we can see!

All for one!

Countdown Update 3
over 4 years ago – Mon, Dec 30, 2019 at 05:00:31 PM

Hey all,

I'm going to do 3 updates over the next 30-60 days which will have all the information needed to finish this campaign!

This update is to inform everyone that the game itself and all of it's expansions and stretch goal content is complete and in final layout.  We've worked our butts off to redo a lot of the game since each iteration has been stifled by financial, timing or other.  When we came back to trying to finish the project we noticed our design efforts outdated, so Dylan, our design hero just tweaked the game to make it a better game overall.  That is now finally over and we can proudly say that Josh, our UI and Layout wizard is finally on the last stages of layout and pre-press.

Our goal is to get the game in and approved before Chinese New Year, even printed, but it won't finish manufacturing until the end of February since the game takes 35 days minimum to press, pack and wrap. Our manufacturer is closing down on the 20th for CNY.  They start back up mid Feb and will be hammering out the last of this game for that time.  We'll be happy to say the game will be 'resting' and drying over the CNY weeks.

The NEXT update I send will have our sample game in it, and news as to when the game is booked on a boat for import. We'll have to go through an address change period too as I'm sure some of you have changed addresses.  It will be a little time consuming but we'll get your changes in to ensure the minimum amount of return to senders possible.

In the meanwhile, here's some stuff to show you the classic Legacy brand we've done to give you some looks on what's coming!

Apologies
over 4 years ago – Thu, Nov 21, 2019 at 01:59:38 AM

Hey Backers,

I'm writing to apologize for the lengthy delay in updates.  There's absolutely no excuse for it.  Our team has changed a lot over the years and although we have grown and lessons learned, we still make some pretty simple but fatal errors.  I'd also like to take personal blame and ask you not to hold Josh or Dylan or any of our partners (Catalyst, Jasco, Larian etc) accountable for MY lack of communication. This is on me.

The real problem I've done here is just, quite literally, forget to update any news.   Gascony's - for what it's worth is just one of those products that doesn't seem to want to finish.  It's like a fever we can't shake.  It gets developed, tested, laid out, tested and just doesn't get DONE.

Believe it or not, our team does work on it fairly often, but it's had so many reiterations and changes that, even though it's a pretty swanky game, we just can't seem to close it off.  We either get distracted with work that takes priority over paying our bills or feeding our families, right down to pure exhaustion because of opportunity seizing.

What I can say now, is that we have finally decided to stop reiterating the game and we're just going to get it done.   We'll have this game (and it's extra content) on a boat by new years and packaged up as quickly as we can box and label after that.

AS for updates... I'm obviously not good at keeping pace.  This is due to the multi-entrepreneurial aspect of my life. I've bitten a lot to chew and as cool as the opportunities and career moves are, I'm not being fair to you backers.  The ones that in some way - are a piece to the puzzle of our success. We NEED to honor that. To be honest, it's because there's so very little to report that reporting just gets forgotten about unless something major comes up in the development that we want to share.  Still.... some communication is better than none.

Here's a list of updates we're going to give you in the next 60-90 days.

  • Update #1 - We'll upload the final prototype that will be sent to manufacturing.  This will be within the next two weeks.
  • Update #2 - We'll have the manufacturer send pictures of the product loading onto a boat when the printing is complete. This will be 3-4 weeks after Update 1.
  • Update #3 - We'll send pics of the games arriving and being packaged - somewhere before that we'll contact you all for address changes, as it's been a couple of years and some of you must have moved.
  • Update #4 - When all the packages are gone.  This should be in January. (Pending customs and freight delivery).

I know a lot of you really dislike us.  You are warranted.  We'll do everything we can to deliver still and gain back some respect, not matter how small.

Thomas

p.s. I'd also like to give a shout out to and thank Xray and a few others for being vocal about it on the Divinity Kickstarter page with us and actually having a conversation about it to wake me up a bit on just HOW far away we've been. Thank you. Sincerely.

Missed Dates - New Gameplan
over 4 years ago – Sat, Aug 10, 2019 at 12:47:56 PM

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update on this product.  We're still in layout hell at the moment.  Dealing with this project's layout is something that we are working on as quickly as we can.

The reality is that this project has become a loss leader and we're maintaining the integrity to complete it, however, we're forced to allocate our spare resources (as in time) to finish the project.

We did just complete Gen Con 2019, and our team played the game through and through to ensure it's ready enough to complete.

I do not have a concrete time for you, as the last time we gave you one, we missed the mark.  What I can say is that we will 100% have this complete in 2019.  We have to.

We'll maintain an update schedule once again, now that this game is back in the swing.

Thanks!

Moving forward well!

Hey all,

So we're so very well caught up now on a lot of other projects and that means Gascony's is finally back in the queue.  We've been running the game through some more needed stress testing and we'll have this under the red button in the coming week.

While we aim to have some sample copies for Gen Con, there's a chance that printing will go smooth and we can get some advanced copies for preview before then. Our goal is to have this game fulfilled in September.

Provided the game has competed the e-proofing - by the end of the month, (which is very do-able) then we'll have the Month of June for printing and then sometime in July for shipping.  The product will arrive mid-late August (pending contingency time) and we'll fulfill right before or after labour day weekend.

That's the current schedule.  We hope the positive vibes and some serious luck help us complete that.

Thanks!
